I have been teaching for over seven years. Prior to graduating college I was offered the opportunity to work in a Montessori based daycare program. It was very interesting to observe the ideology behind this unique approach to education. In addition, I have been afforded several years of working in a title one public school as well as several years of teaching at a private catholic school. My diverse experience in education has provided me with a strong foundation and passion for teaching.

Morning Announcements for Earth Day!
This document provides you with a week full of important facts, news and tips related to preserving our Earth. You could choose 1-2 students daily to read the prompted message over the intercome for each day of the week ! It's a great way to share information with the entire school community during the week of Earth Day.

This mini-unit is terrific for introducing or reintroducing a piece of American history such as, the Westward Expansion era. This bundle was created to ensure unique, authentic lessons that are easy to follow. Along with the plans, the bundle includes daily objectives, background knowledge for the teacher, as well as, student centered activities.

Writing in Sequential Order: "How I Get to School on Time." This information sheet is given to each student prior to the activity. The students follow the directions and meet with a classmate to revise their paper. I would suggest this for students who can be responsible and work independently. This activity could be implemented during literature circles or Lang. Arts time. If you have second graders who are excelling you could provide this as an in class enrichment activity.

I would consider my style of teaching to be creative and enthusiastic, focusing on the individual needs of each child.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was invited to speak at The WVRA state conference in White Sulfur Springs, WV at the historic Greenbrier to discuss and demonstrate how implementing children's literature across the curriculum can create a deeper impact on learning.
Additional biographical information
I am currently a stay-at-home mom to our one year old. I am enjoying every minute! I consider teaching a life long journey, so TPT is fulfilling my need and desire to aide other professionals and remain active apart of the education community!
