About the store

Experience

I am a special education teacher in Arkansas. This year is my sixth year as a special education teacher in the self-contained setting working with severe learners. I love my job and I love creating resources that help my students to learn new skills!

Teaching style

I have a very hands on approach to my teaching style. I love using 3D objects for learning and adding visuals with the objects. I feel that if my students can touch and feel it or see a picture of the item it is easier for them to retain that information!

Awards & shining teacher moments

My first year as a self-contained teacher I received teacher of the year for my building. I was so excited to receive this award that was voted on my peers and administration. I am much more excited about the awesome moments in my classroom though. I work mostly with nonverbal students who are lower elementary school age. When a student says the word or phrase we have been working on or sign those are the shining moments for me!

My own education history

I received my Master of Arts of Teaching degree in special education in December 2020. I also have some master hours toward my Birth-five special education certification. I currently work at an elementary school in northeast Arkansas in a small farming community. I teacher severe self-contained with grades K-4th grade students.
