I am a inclusion teacher in kindergarten and first grades - that means that it is my responsibility to give students with extremely diverse abilities the tools that they need to be successful in a class with all of their peers. I have taught pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and seventh grade, so the items you will see are from many different grades and can be used in multiple grade levels.

Experience

I am a inclusion teacher in kindergarten and first grades - that means that it is my responsibility to give students with extremely diverse abilities the tools that they need to be successful in a class with all of their peers. I have taught pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and seventh grade, so the items you will see are from many different grades and can be used in multiple grade levels.

Teaching style

I am a strategy-driven teacher and believe in giving students as many tools as possible to help them be independently successful. I believe in providing these tools at multiple levels so that all students have the materials that meet them at their current level and allow them room to improve their skills.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have presented at conferences: TASH, Cal-TASH, ASHA. I have mentored numerous fieldwork students and student teachers. One of my literacy lessons was published by the Human Rights Campaign as part of their Welcoming Schools lesson plans.

My own education history

I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education from American University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Students with Disabilities from New York University. My undergraduate degree is in Human Development and Education Studies from Brown University.
