This SMART Board lesson on homographs makes it easy to review homonyms, and move right into a focus on homographs! The lesson begins with a homographs joke, followed by a review of the two types of homonyms (homophones/homographs) and how they are different. The lesson proceeds with an explanation of homographs, as well as examples, a hands on game, and a challenge question at the end. Teaching style
I am a lifelong learner, who believes that if I want to engage my students I need to teach in a way that is engaging to me as well. I strive to support the teaching foundational skills and concepts with opportunities for students to develop their own understandings through problem solving.
I also see a huge benefit in embracing technology in the classroom! We live in a technology age, and would be doing a disservice to our students by not reflecting that in their learning environment. How can they learn to use tech effectively and responsibly without opportunities to do so?!
