Our district has put a major focus on math discourse and I wanted to have cards displayed around our room that serve as sentence starters, and discourse reminders as we work through our lessons. This has been a great resource for my students to refer to. You cant print/laminate them to hang or shrink them when you print to make desk printable sets for students on an individual basis.

We love reading The Giver with our 7th graders each year and this has been a really fun project for the students at the end of the book. This gives the students a great opportunity to have autonomy while still having decided what the options are. The game board and test are always our biggest hits! I usually give students about a week and a half to complete this project following the book, which is a nice break before we start our next novel.

I love a good about me page, but with my middle schoolers don't often want to engage with the typical posters and pages I see on here. Buttt...they LOVE sneakers. The shoe game is where it's at. So, I created this with a few specific shoes that my students talk about often, and I use it as a first week of school short activity that is used to decorate my bulletin board at the beginning of the year.

I always look for parent teacher signup sheets on here, but I needed something that I could just gauge which parents wanted to have a conference. I was having issues with parents signing up for the same times. So, I just created this and then when parents select yes, I reach out with my open time slots!

I have used this passage specifically with my 4th and 5th graders. We have been working on understanding historical text, looking at cause and effect, and main idea. There are only three questions for this article because I wanted something attainable for my students to work through during their independent center time.

Whether I have called out sick and have a sub, need an engaging learning video, or just want to have a fun Friday, I often make worksheets to go along with a Magic School Bus episode. The kids enjoy watching and it helps build a skill of note taking! For my students still struggling with basic writing or fine motor skills, I give them a traceable copy so that they are still building the skill of taking notes, and engaging with fine motor practice. The kids have loved doing this!

With having multiple grade levels in my classroom, I needed something consistent that I could build independence with in the morning. My 4th graders were given this for seven weeks and then tested on Fridays. This was an easy way to get them thinking in the morning but not something that would take a long amount of time. I've decided to move away from homework in my classroom this year! Instead I am doing a reading log! I give this to my students at the beginning of each month, and they can turn it in for a small prize. I do not penalize those who do not turn it in, but there is a positive reinforcement towards reading at home!

I was just able to start up an after school garden club this year and one thing that I thought about was wanting my students who joined to have a keepsake at the end of this! On the first session I had the kids decorate their cover and each session we do something that we can add to the journal! Enjoy!

During the beginning of the year, I always frame my student's perspective of how they can be like scientists and how they can be like engineers this year. I like to do a few STEAM activities with my students and then we add these pages into our science journals!

My students seemed to struggle a lot with stuffing their unfinished work into their desk or taking it home. I was also noticing a gap with some time in our transitions that kids could be using to do unfinished work, but ended up spending their time looking for the work I am talking about. I printed this PDF on shipping labels and then just peeled the label and placed it on red folders for the kids!

Each week I try to make a quick recipe with my class, and we connect it to a math standard we are working on. My class has been working on fractions and measurement conversions, so we made milkshakes and had to convert our measurements! The class rocked it and actually making the milkshakes helped them conceptualize the measurements and fractions!

I love using unique call and responses with my students. I work in a multiple disabilities classroom so having that visual reminder of our call and response is essential for success! I display these in a central location and use it a lot at the beginning and middle of the year to refer to. Sometimes I have pretty tough days where my paraprofessionals or I need some motivation. I hang these on the inside of my teaching cabinets so that anyone pulling materials can get a little reminder of why they do what they do! Could be hung in a staff bathroom as well!
