Additional biographical information

I taught for 11 Years in NYC, the first 5 years of my career were in the very same zip code I grew up in, in the south bronx! I taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade math in a self contained setting and this was the most rewarding 5 years of my career. It was also challenging and I needed a change so I moved up to the high school level and taught Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 for 6 more years in Washington Heights before fully transitioning out of the classroom to be home with my boys in November 2022. I am also a special needs mom to a super caring 5 year who is on the spectrum and currently non-verbal. It's one of the many reasons why creating scaffolded resources that really make a difference for students is so important to me. If you ever need a thinking partner or a sound board when it comes to differentiation and student engagement please don't hesistate to reach out to me via email Stephanie@algebramadesimple.com or Instagram, I'm here to help! The one piece of advice that has stood with me throughout all of these years in education is that "the answer will always be in the room....if that room is filled with teachers"....
