This helped prepare my students for the 8th grade STAAR. We would practice making notes on a blank reference chart with hints for how to use the formulas. I would begin two weeks before the STAAR date, giving students time during warm-ups and exit tickets to fill out sections of the chart. During the last week I would have a quiz where they would fill out as much as they could from memory. Student have told me that they spend the first 5-10 minutes of the test filling out their chart to use.

Students use an initial in their name and use different transformation rules to determine the new location on a coordinate plane. Rubric included.

TEKS 8.7B These are step by step notes and practice for surface area of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms. I found this helped my students understand the formulas by breaking it down bit by bit.
