This activity is a BIG hit with my kids. This activity is designed to add fun to learning about adding/subtracting integers. Students will have to solve 26 questions, each of which correspond to a letter from the alphabet. Students then use the answers to discover which letter from the "ancient language" correlates to which letter from the alphabet and use this information to decode the riddle. Students loved the mystery of this activity and were enthusiastic about completing this assignment.
