Experience

I have taught self-contained 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classes, with extensive experience supporting diverse learners, including ESL, Gifted and Talented, and students receiving special education services. My work has focused on TEKS-aligned instruction, data-driven teaching, and creating classroom systems that build student independence. Most recently, I taught upper-elementary math and science, where I implemented structured routines and student-friendly tools—many of which inspired the resources I create today.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, consistency, and student ownership. I place a strong emphasis on goal setting, as I believe students learn best when they understand their progress and take pride in it. In my 1:1 device classroom, students regularly set goals, track their learning in spreadsheets, and reflect on their growth—skills that build independence and intrinsic motivation. While technology plays a central role in our daily routines, I also prioritize creativity, curiosity, and joyful learning experiences. I blend digital tools with hands-on, imaginative activities to create a classroom environment where students feel energized, confident, and eager to participate. Whether we are analyzing data or welcoming a “celebrity mathematician” to share a strategy, my goal is always to make learning engaging, meaningful, and memorable.

Awards & shining teacher moments

TIA Exemplary Teacher Designation, State of Texas ESL Teacher of the Year, Campus Award

My own education history

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University, completing 57 credit hours in a single year and earning placement on the Dean’s List twice. I also hold 27 graduate hours in Educational Technology, and I hope to continue my professional growth by pursuing additional advanced certifications in the future.

Additional biographical information

During my time at Texas State University, I received a partial scholarship to complete my student teaching in London, England. This international experience broadened my perspective as an educator and continues to influence my approach to curriculum design and classroom culture. Outside of teaching, I’m a proud mom of two wonderful children, one loyal dog, and two cats who keep our home lively. My faith in Jesus grounds me, and I’m grateful each day for the blessings in my life. These experiences shape the heart behind my work and inspire me to create resources that support both teachers and students.
