Help students relax and take individualized notes with these templates that encourage students to doodle and take notes together! You can make this template lesson specific before you distribute to the class, or leave it up to them to fill in the spaces as they see fit! The preview file shows how I use the template in my high school math classroom. My students can color as much or as little as they would like. Make these your own!

Looking at complex functions can be scary, but understanding where they come from and how they relate to each other can help!
Using common parent functions, students will practice function transformations, specifically shifting, by both graphing and writing equations. The concept of a "family tree" is used to show students that functions can be related, but also unique individuals.
Given a graph of the original function, students will draw four "family members" or transformations: shift up,
Using their knowledge of graphing functions, function notation, and creating tables of values, students will discover the relationship between a function and its inverse! Students can work independently or collaboratively to see the graphical, numerical, and algebraic relationships between functions and their inverses. All students need is a few colored pencils and they are ready to go!
Help students relax and take individualized notes with these templates that help connect both sides of the brain! You can make each template lesson specific before you distribute to the class, or leave it up to them to fill in the spaces as they see fit! This bundle includes SEVEN templates, all color coded to help organize or to encourage individuality! In my own classroom, students are encouraged to color as much or as little of the frames as they would like. Make these your own!
Many Calculus students struggle to solve problems, not because they don't know how to do the math but because they do not understand what they are being asked to do. Math vocabulary at this high level is especially important, and students have never heard or seen many of the Calculus terms!
This Calculus Vocabulary Reference sheet goes in the front of my students' notebooks as a course-long reference. It woks similarly to a word-wall to help them stay refreshed on terms from a few chapters ago.
Parent graphs are common, relatively simple functions that are used frequently in math (and the majority of other function are created through transformations of these twelve).
Asking students to memorize twelve graphs and traits for each can be overwhelming. To help my students better learn these graphs, they create their own book about the parent graphs. Each page includes a place for the original function, common points on the graph, a sketch, and a description that includes domain, range,
