I started teaching when I was just 20 years old. Over the years, I’ve come to realise that teaching brings together all of my strengths: communication, creativity, empathy, and a love for learning. It feels like a perfect fit for my personality, and I'm grateful to have found my passion and continue to find enjoyment in teaching, designing lessons, and connecting with students.
I’m a big fan of poetry: both reading and writing. I believe poetry is one of the most powerful forms of personal expression, and I enjoy finding ways to get students to be excited about poetry and creative writing.
I also love reading, especially autobiographical and reflective works that offer insight into people’s lived experiences and inner worlds. I’m also passionate about languages. I speak Dutch and English fluently, and have a decent understanding of French, German, and Spanish. One of my goals is to become fluent in these three languages as well, not just for myself, but so I can better connect with and support the multilingual students in my classroom.
Teaching, for me, is always about connection: between people, between cultures, and between ideas. I'm grateful to be part of a global community of educators who care deeply about inclusive, joyful learning!
