With five years of experience as my district’s only music teacher, I’ve had the privilege of teaching everything from beginning band to marching band—building programs, supporting students at every level, and wearing just about every hat imaginable. During COVID, I expanded my skill set even further by teaching for a national online learning platform, where my classroom included students from all across the country. While there, I taught multiple science courses and discovered just how effective, flexible, and engaging online teaching can be when the right tools are in place. Today, I teach at a small private outdoor school where learning is theme-based and deeply connected to real-world exploration. I’m the Middle School instructor and 6th-grade homeroom teacher, guiding students through math, ELA, science, and more. Before that, I taught kindergarten at the same school—an experience that reminded me how diverse, dynamic, and ever-evolving the art of teaching truly is. Through each of these roles, one truth has become clear: teaching is a skill that grows with every new challenge, every new student, and every new classroom environment. And that’s exactly why I create educational resources. I want to support teachers who, like me, value meaningful student connection and want to spend less time scrambling for curriculum and more time actually teaching. My goal is to share the knowledge I’ve gained—from music rooms to Zoom rooms to outdoor classrooms—and provide tools that make teaching easier, more engaging, and more joyful.
