After reading Cris Tovani's book, "So What Do They Really Know? in grad school " I had to use conversation calendars in my classroom! I am so thankful that I did. This basic tool is so useful to see what they REALLY know. Some kids who do not answer in class will write on their calendar. These are great for instant feedback after each lesson. You give the student a copy of the calendar on day one of your lesson and they write down their thoughts, feelings, and questions about the lesson. After

Voila! New digital calendars for you! Just add your text box to the correct date and fill it in with your special events. This is something that I use everyday in my classroom. I like how I can add events and edit them as needed. It is great to give to students and parents at the beginning of the month for them to see new learning skills, events, notes, etc. This simple design helps to save on your valuable classroom ink. Also, since it is already virtual you can easily share it on any digital

If you like to assign your students classroom jobs throughout the school year this is the product for you! Just print and have the kiddos do the rest. They have three choices and they have to persuade you to choose them for their desired job. There are three different styles of this application, so you can choose the one that suits your style the best. Personally, I usually change jobs two or three times a year depending on the group of students I have. I hope you enjoy this product.

We all know that collecting makeup work can be a disaster! To make that necessary evil easier, I created this form to make it less of a hassle. The teacher fills out this cover sheet and attaches any work that needs to be completed to the cover page. I place these on the absent student's desk usually desk and they collect the the work when they return from school. I also keep these at my desk and review the make up work with the students. Hands down, this is my favorite beginning of they year form! Yes, I know this is all on the computer, but let's face it, sometimes the internet is down or we the number in the computer is not accurate. I always like to have something in my hand with contact information. I have added questions for parents to answer that are beneficial to you before you even begin teaching. I have used this form since I began teaching and I go to these forms constantly throughout the year. This simple form/questi

Each year I give a reading survey to my students to find out each student's reading confidence, likes, dislikes, favorite genres, favorite authors, etc. Not only will this survey give you a better feel of your classes reading attitude it will help you create a love of reading in your students. This is a great tool to have at the beginning of the year to help guide your readers to books geared towards their interests. You can keep these in a folder and reference back to it as the year progresses.

Experience

This year will be my six year teaching fourth-grade. For the past five years I have been teaching ELA all day! I also worked for two years in our school computer lab with Kindergarten, first, and fifth grade students. For the past eight years I have worked in my school's After School program with Kindergarten students up to sixth grade students.

Teaching style

My style of teaching changes every year depending on what type of students I have in my classroom. I do not think that students should "sit and get" information all day long. I try to make my lessons exciting and relevant. I read aloud to my students EVERY SINGLE DAY! And yes, I do all of the voices. My goal is to make each lesson memorable to say that they truly learned in my classroom!
