About the store
Created by an experienced and multi-state licensed occupational therapist, our resources are thoughtfully designed in alignment with the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF-4) and the Occupational Therapy Practice Guidelines for Autistic People Across the Lifespan. These practical tools support sensory-motor skills, self-regulation, and meaningful participation for students on the autism spectrum and those with other diagnoses. After earning my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from D’Youville College, I began my career at a local Therapy Services company. There I provided occupational therapy services to students from Pre-K through high school who needed additional support beyond what a typical school district could offer. I worked with students across all diagnoses, with the majority being on the autism spectrum. It was during this time that I discovered my true passion — creating engaging, purposeful activities tailored to their IEPs and watching them thrive as they reached their goals. Today, I work for a virtual therapy company where I treat, evaluate, and coordinate OT sessions for students across the country. Being licensed in New York, California, Maine, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma allows me to serve a wider community remotely. This virtual role has made the hands-on resources I create even more essential — they bridge the gap between therapy sessions and everyday practice at home and in the classroom.

Teaching style

I believe the most powerful learning happens when children are fully engaged, having fun, and gently pushed beyond their comfort zone toward their true potential. As a certified occupational therapist, I design realistic, hands-on activities that blend sensory-motor challenges with everyday occupations—like school participation, play, self-regulation, and daily living skills. My resources turn therapy goals into playful, meaningful experiences that feel natural and motivating, helping students on the autism spectrum and with other diagnoses build confidence, independence, and lasting skills. “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” — Benjamin Franklin This philosophy guides everything I create: fun, purposeful activities that respect each child’s unique strengths while encouraging growth, curiosity, and joy in learning. Whether it’s a sensory regulation game, fine motor adventure, or social participation toolkit, my goal is to make progress feel exciting and achievable for both kids and the adults supporting them.

My own education history

I have a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from D'Youville College in New York.

Additional biographical information

Hello! I’m Allison, an Occupational Therapist based in Buffalo, NY, and the creator of Allison’s Corner. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started sharing the materials I created for my own students, and Allison’s Corner was born. I’m passionate about designing creative, functional tools that support vocational skills, organization, sequencing, fine motor development, visual motor skills, and more — all while making learning fun and effective for children on the autism spectrum. My goal is to support the entire autism community — students, parents, teachers, fellow OTs, and caregivers — with high-quality resources that make a real difference. Thank you for visiting my store! I’m truly grateful to be part of your journey in helping kids thrive. 💙
