Experience

I currently work as a center-based Affective Needs teacher , I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Behavior Analysis Practice, and I previously worked as a special education paraprofessional.

Teaching style

I put relationships and structure first, and individualize my teaching style/expectations to each child. I also implement the Neurosequential Model in Education to better meet the needs of students who have experienced early childhood trauma.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Belmont University, Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education, currently attending graduate school

Additional biographical information

I have two lovely stepchildren who I co-parent alongside a beautifully blended family of their biological mom, biological dad (my husband), and co-dad. I have lived in Tennessee and Colorado, and I currently work in a school ranked within the top 5% of Colorado schools for its diversity. I am a behavior nerd, and I am extremely passionate about having high expectations of students and preserving the dignity of all students in all educational settings.
