About the store
I am a middle school Science teacher and I absolutely love teaching middle school kids. I am in my 20th year of teaching and have been teaching middle school science (grades 6-8) since 2017. I spent my first 11 years in elementary school (mostly 4th & 5th grades) which has helped me with a lot of the engagement strategies I use with my middle schoolers.

Experience

Teaching style

I am big on student engagement. I believe when we engage our students (and their brains), then they will enjoy what they are learning more and retain it better. My favorite ways to give my students deliberate and repeated practice is through stations, labs, and projects.

Additional biographical information

I am a wife and a mom. I have a 5th grader and two adult children. When I'm not at school, I spend my time outdoors in Arizona during the fall, winter, and spring watching my son play baseball, football, and basketball. I love learning, working toward my goals, watching sports, reading, writing (I am writing a book), exercising, and creating things.
