Making inferences is a complex skill, and searching through your teacher's purse makes it far more engaging and easy to understand! Each year, I let my students look through my (ultra safe) purse, and they work together to infer why I have certain items! Students thoroughly enjoy the hands on aspect of this activity and also hearing each other's inferences.
