This popular game uses the Spanish sight words. Print out the cards on cardstock and cut in half. Each student gets at least one card. The person with the smiley face on their card goes first. They read the top line that says "their" word and ask for the word on the bottom. Students have to be able to read both words or they can ask a friend for help. We play once or twice a month and try to go faster each time.
These cards work great for forming pairs with students or playing a game of memory in a literacy center. All these words are derived from Latin-American Spanish.
This PowerPoint contains all the basic sightwords any bilingual kindergartners should know in Spanish before the end of the year. You can play it during snack time, nap time, or as a group practice. Students have to read the sight word before it flashes to the next screen. You can print out the slides as handouts and make copies for the students to cut out and use as flash cards at home.
This Spanish version of "The Turkey in the Straw" is a great seasonal song and reinforces vowels and syllables. Students love to do movements with the song.
