I use this template in my student's writer's workshop folders along with a few other helpful resources. I have them use the top template to help them set up the format for a story. Green (go) is the topic sentence, yellow (slow down) for the supporting sentences and giving detail, and red (stop) is for the closing sentence. They use the bottom resource as a check list to make sure their sentences are complete. Great tool! Enjoy! :)
