Assign a different state to each of your students. They will write a report and create a float to represent their state. This is a wonderful project to complete before Open House for parents to see! I used it for my 5th grade classes, but you could also assign it in a 4th grade setting by focusing it on your home state!
Students create a brochure by following the directions about Ancient India. I have included a sample brochure and can be printed and used as a model, along with the detailed directions.
This is an alternative to a report on the importance of the Nile River. Great way for students to collect and present the material they have learned on how important the Nile River was to the Egyptians.
Each student is given a different point of interest throughout the state, with a little bit of information about it. They will then follow the directions for gathering different information to make their brochure complete, including hotels, restaurants and gas costs. You can culminate this project with each student presenting their area : )
