Are your students involved in journaling during math class? Mathematical writing is essential in order for your students to meet the mathematical standards. In order for your student to construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others, they need time to practice writing weekly! This resource aligns with the Common Core Standards and enVision Math 2.0. There are 40 writing prompts to last you the whole year. There are 1-4 prompts per math topic depending on the length of the topic

Four Squares are great graphic organizers to use in mathematics too! It can help your students become more comfortable writing. Four Squares also helps students see relationships and patterns in mathematics. This rubric will help you assess your students' mathematical reasoning and explanations.

Place Value Objectives: numbers through one million and place value relationships This activity should be used as a review after instruction. This is a great way to differentiate! This was designed to engage multiple types of learners. I included questions that will meet the different needs of all learners. Some questions require higher-level thinking while others require students to recall previously learned information. Have fun!
