You will have to choose videos appropriate for your class. I chose one showing great service, one showing average service and one showing very rude service. This is an activity and discussion lesson plan involving respect. For effective use of this lesson you will need toothpicks, individual salt packets, paper bowls, and a large sheet of "bulletin board paper". The activity is a metaphor that will lead to a discussion about what respect looks and sounds like.

Using a section from the nonfiction novel :Wild by Cheryl Strayed students have to read the excerpt and identify pronouns, nouns and verbs. This challenges students to identify part of speech within text. The theme of the quiz is that the student is a detective accepting the mission to identify as many pronounces, nouns and verbs as possible.
The diagram of a person allows students to chose three feelings and colors they believe coordinate with their feelings. They color the "person diagram" to illustrate where they are experiencing these feelings. This is used to facilitate discussion about how we feel.
