About the store

Experience

I’m a 7th grade math teacher with a background in tutoring, being a teaching assistant, and coaching gymnastics. My years of coaching and classroom experience have helped me develop a teaching style that keeps students active, engaged, and confident in their abilities.

Teaching style

I believe in creating a student-centered, positive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and explore new ideas. I often use the Socratic method and real-world connections to help students see the relevance of math in their everyday lives.

Awards & shining teacher moments

One of my proudest moments as a teacher was seeing students who once struggled with confidence in math become classroom leaders and actively help their peers. I value those small, everyday wins where students realize they can succeed in math.

My own education history

I earned my bachelor’s degrees in both Human Development and Mathematics, giving me a strong foundation in how students grow as learners and how to make math accessible and meaningful. During college, I worked as a tutor and teaching assistant, which sparked my passion for education. My coursework combined developmental psychology, education theory, and advanced math, allowing me to approach teaching with a well-rounded perspective that focuses on both academic and personal growth.

Additional biographical information

Outside the classroom, I’ve spent years coaching competitive and recreational gymnastics, which has shaped my belief in fostering confidence, discipline, and perseverance in students. I love blending creativity and structure in both teaching and coaching.
