This is a code breaking activity that I designed to introduce a lesson on buoyancy. The students then created tin foil boats to try and hold the greatest number of marbles. This code practices grid skills which are important for graphing.
I created this activity to discuss the properties of solids and liquids. As an introduction activity, I first had students brainstorm different solids and liquids. We then discussed different properties of their brainstormed list. I then gave students a "recipe" card and we discussed the properties of all of the ingredients in slime. Good activity to reinforce this concept and low mess due to creating slime in individual bags.
