This is a great hands-on way for students to create a model of the layers of Earth. The students will enjoy learning while they create their own diagram. It is a great study tool that they can use throughout a unit. It is also a fun project to put on display to show off what you are learning in your classroom! This journal allows students to observe different types of clouds and the weather that comes with each. For five days, each student will record the weather of that day and predict the next day's weather. The last page allows students to make general conclusions about what they learned through their observations and predictions.
This is a good introduction for students into an Earth's Resources unit. I usually have them start it at school then continue it at home to observe one whole day of water usage. It is a great discussion starter for how much we use resources and ways to conserve resources.
