This lab allows students to make their own fun bath bomb to take home. They can just take them home to use or wrap them for gifts. The students must draw a picture of their bath bomb as well as compare their bath bomb to others. Students must take this template and make it their own. This only has the basic information that is needed for the full grade. 6 total slides that the kids must answer what is a reactant, what is a product, what energy is needed for a chemical reaction, and a works cited. I also have a slide for students to give ideas on future chemical reaction labs that they want to do. Giving the student choice gives more buy into the curriculum for students.
This lab uses simple everyday materials that the students can use to discover the difference between the two using vocabulary and getting basic laboratory skills.
Research different sources of water pollution for both the oceans as well as rivers and lakes. Research the causes of water pollution both in your area and worldwide. The pipe cleaner gives enough surface area for the crystals to form onto. Materials:Borax laundry powder Pipecleaner A foam cup String A pencil A marker pen A cup Food coloring
This Friction lab allows the students to build, weigh, and calculate friction on different surfaces. This then allows them to modify and change the object being dragged and the surface type being used.
