This is the classic Stone Soup folk tale adapted into a reader's theater by me (Andrea Johnson) for the elementary classroom. Great for fall harvest celebrations and Thanksgiving. Intended for whole class participation; add or subtract parts as needed.

Take your class on a tour of your community, habitat, and the ecosystem you live in. Draw pictures (or take pictures) to create a poster giving our class a tour of your life! Include things in your community (neighborhood), your habitat's address, any family in your habitat (home), and a description of your niche (job) at home.

New Years resolutions are snow covered sometimes! This fun craft-ivity is "Snow" much fun! Updated for 2026. Cut out the circles and glue them to the ends of the snowflake. Write one or two words to finish the statements on the snowflake.

Students choose one of the following options to share what they've learned about early Indiana life or a famous Hoosier using their learning style to best portray knowledge. Encourage your class to do their weekly spelling homework and practice their money counting skills at the same time...WITH CHOICE! Skills are divided into 5, 10, 25, 50, 75 cent activities based off supplies needed and difficulty. Kid tested, teacher approved! Student Directions: Practicing your Spelling will really PAY OFF! This anchor chart can be copied for individual students to refer to, and/or made into a poster for students reference. Students used this as we prepped for state reading assessments to help "attack" the comprehension questions.

Here is a simple result ticket to pass out to families before the official papers are sent home. I have also used them for 3rd grade conferences as a reminder of the 2nd grade results.
