This lesson provides an example of the Engineer Design Cycle then provides students a hands on experience into making a solar oven. Students will use a renewable energy source and turn light energy into thermal energy. You will need to get pizza boxes, crayons, aluminum foil, plastic wrap and more for the hands on activity.

This is an anticipatory guide to help students with energy conversions. Students will guess as to the energy being converted. After reading an attached 4th grade reading on what energy conversion looks like students will try again to label the energies being converted.
