Planning A Road Trip Project
This project requires students to plan a road trip within the United States. It covers many aspects of Geography (using roads, directions, finding attractions, etc.) and requires use of Mathematics for budgeting.
Students will plot out the cities they plan to go to, the hotels they will stay at, the attractions they will visit, and miles driven. They will also write journal entries and create a postcard from one of their cities.

Experience
I am in my fourth year of teaching. My first three years were spent teaching high school American History, World History, Government and Psychology. Now I am teaching 7th grade Geography.
Teaching style
As a history teacher, I liked to use PowerPoint presentations with lots of pictures and videos. At both the middle and high school level, I love hands-on projects for the kids and lots of map work!

I attended the University of Northern Iowa studying History Education.
