This is a Cold War PowerPoint that covers many of the aspects of the Cold War from the end of WWII to the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Red Scare. It was used in a 9th grade American History course, but would also work well for World History.

This is a research, poster and presentation project I did with my 7th grade students when we were talking about conflict and revolution in the Middle East. It requires a lot of interpretation of events so might be better suited for older kids, but my kids enjoyed doing it.

This a PowerPoint used in teaching a high school Eastern Civilization course. It covers Ancient China from the Xia dynasty to the Ming. It covers various information from oracle bones, Confucianism, Buddhism, to the Silk Road and the Mongols. It is pretty comprehensive but can be edited as necessary.

This research assignment is a follow up/continuation of the Rwandan Genocide discussion. Students are assigned a country and are asked to research their role in genocide. They then hold a Model United Nations style discussion in which they attempt to debate and work together to come up with resolutions to various questions that have been posed. This goes well in conjunction with the Rwandan Genocide slideshow I have also posted. Combine the two for a better deal!

Designed for a 9th grade American History class, this project requires students to research various topics from the 1950s and create a magazine that describes them. My students had a blast putting these together and learned a lot about their grandparent's generation!

This is a PowerPoint I made using an acronym to teach students the causes of World War One. It creatively goes through each of the causes with a package of Ramen noodles on each slide, making the students wonder, 'why is that there?' Then the last slide sums up each of the causes using RamIn as an acronym. I found this PPT to be very helpful!

This PowerPoint has been used in a high school American History course when covering WWII. It is a unit long slideshow that covers topics from Totalitarianism, the start of WWII in Europe, Pearl Harbor, US homefront, Japanese Internment, major battles from both war theaters, to the end of the war. It is very comprehensive and easy for the students to follow. It also includes links to video clips and has some activities on some slides.

This is a project that I had 11-12th grade students do in my Modern World History course. It requires them to research a Russian leader and an event he is associated with, write a paper and give a speech acting as the leader. The document details what the students have to research and breaks down how they earn points.

This project requires students to conduct in depth research on a country that was impacted by the Renaissance. They will look at different aspects including politics and art that would have impacted the country at the time. This information will be compiled into a presentation for them to share.

This slideshow starts with a discussion of what genocide entails and then provides basic background information on the Rwandan Genocide of 1994.

This is a neat research project that allows students to explore the artwork of many different artists during the Renaissance period. It turns knowledge from classroom discussions into a hands on creative project that uses technology.
