Goal Setting Project.... Planning Ahead!
This lesson will teach your students how to set goals (both long term and short-term) and also have them complete a very unique project that will be relevant to them and their lives.
I wrote this project about 10 years ago and shared it with everyone in my department, still today I see teachers completing this lesson . . . it is probably one of my best! I have taken it and improved it over the years and have decided to post it for sale here.

Experience
I have been teaching Health Education in Rochester, NY for 12 years. The majority of my classes have been spent teaching 7th grade health. I have over the years had many High School Health and Sports Managements classes as well.
Teaching style
The current climate of my district and the schools that I have taught at require a very strong behavior management plan. I like to say to the students on the first day the "rules" or policies that you hear on the first day is the "real deal" and you will not see me change. The expectations are very clear.
Everyday we start with a bellwork (review and discussion of previous classes) followed up with our classwork. I am very big into group work, activities and projects.
Awards & shining teacher moments
The greatest honor I ever received was at an open house. It was a student who I had in middle school and was again going to have in high school. The students mother came to tell me that she was so please with my class and the things that we did.
I have received other recognitions and awards, but none compare to when you have a student or parent reflect back on you work and compliment you.

Additional biographical information
I live outside of Rochester NY with my husband and 4 year old daughter. We are a very active family. My husband is a marathon runner and triathlete and I play indoor soccer 3 times a week, weight train and love aerobics.
