About the store
Hey, y’all! My name is Amy Lemons and I am passionate about providing students with both engaging and effective standards-based Math and ELA lessons. Throughout my 11+ years in education, I discovered that students need opportunities to see content presented in a variety of ways. I am passionate about creating resources that are hands-on, meaningful, and that captivate students’ interests. My goal is to equip teachers with highly effective lessons and activities that allow them to walk into their classrooms feeling confident and excited about the day! You’ll also notice that I get overly enthusiastic when I find a beautiful picture book, complete a fun directed drawing, or create a new math game!

Teaching style

One of my favorite things about being a classroom teacher is the art of developing a lesson plan. I learned early on that giving my students worksheet after worksheet was just not going to work for us. I believe that students are most engaged in the classroom when the activities are hands-on, the books are meaningful, and the environment is structured but fun. The best activities are those when the students don’t even realize they are working/learning because they are just having too much fun while doing so! I’m always looking for ways I can spice up the typical activity just by adding in simple materials such as dice, spinners, poms, pipe cleaners, etc. Sometimes you just need that ONE little thing to take your lesson from mundane to magical.

Additional biographical information

I’m a wife, momma, and lover of all things teaching related. After graduating college in December of 2006, I started teaching 4th grade… fresh out of college and had not a clue what to do!!! I took over a class in the middle of the year and my one and only goal was to SURVIVE! Over my 11 years in education, I spent the majority of that time teaching 1st and 2nd grades. I know how hard you work day in and day out as a teacher. My goal is to lighten your load. I hope that when you visit here, you’ll walk away with a lesson idea, a fun activity, or a book recommendation that will positively impact your classroom. As a teacher resource creator, my purpose is to save you time and energy while also helping to bring some joy into your classroom.
