An original bulletin board for your math classroom by Amy Query!
I got tired of not being able to find secondary math bulletin boards online. This is a ready-to-print bulletin board to answer the common student question, "When am I ever going to use this?"
Each math topic includes 3-11 career paths. The career paths are not all-inclusive, because some topics are used in many, many career pathways! Here are the math topics covered:
*Systems of Equations
*Quadratics
*Probability & Statistics

I use this worksheet in my Pre-Calculus classes to study (as a whole class) for the Trig Proof quiz. In my class, this activity is called "Check Yo' Skills." Students need to
-Write the trig expression as the sine, cosine, or tangent of an angle
-Simplify the trig expression to a single term
-Prove the trigonometric identity
-Find the exact value of each trig expression using a sum or difference identity
-Find all solutions in the interval zero to 2*pi without using a calculator bu giving exact
This is both forms of a test (in the one document...Form A is pages 1-3 and Form B is pages 4-6) that I give in Applied Geometry, but it could definitely be used for standard Geometry classes. This is to assess the unit on simplifying radicals, special right triangles, and basic right triangle trigonometry. On these tests, students are asked:
-What 2 numbers is the given square root going to be between?
-Simplify the square roots
-Solve for the missing side on the given right triangle. No decima
I compiled the names, dates, nationalities, and a quick blurb about 14 different mathematicians throughout history. There are quite a few mathematicians that I left out, obviously, but I was trying to show a wide variety of nationalities so students can see that mathematics comes from all "corners" of the globe. :)
All you need (after download) is to get letters for the title. I got mine at the local dollar store.
This is a Word document that contains both forms of a Geometry lines unit test. The tests are a combination of true/false, short answer, and graphing problems. Students are asked to:
-Find midpoint between 2 points
-Find distance between 2 points
-Find slope of line between 2 points
-Find equation of a line given a slope and a y-intercept
-Find equation of a line given a slope and a point
-Find equation of a line given 2 points
-Write equation of a line in algebra given a situation in words
-Plo

Experience
I've been a high school math teacher for 6 years now.
Teaching style
I do a lot of direct instruction, but I involve the students in it and make it entertaining. I also do some group work. When I teach Applied Math, I give lab activities.
My own education history
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Mathematics
(Minor in Vocal Music)
Master of Science Education in Mathematics, Grade 6-8
