This is a presentation that I use after our Introduction to Architecture & Construction lesson. You will need some empty cans and a cup of water (volunteers will balance the cups on their side) AND you will need 100 cups per group of students for the Tower Building activity and a measuring tape. I typically let my students work in groups of 3. Note: I made the mistake of purchasing clear cups.. Don't do this. OMG. Buy 100 DIFFERENT colored cups so that each group has their own color! I use this presentation with my Middle School students as part of our Agriculture and Natural Resources career cluster. As I walk through the presentation, they complete the handout. As we progress through the presentation, they are able to get up and get their next layer from a table at the front of the room. This allows them to do some moving around while also learning.

Cut out's, worksheet, answer key- are all included for students to put together AND color their own Gallon man! My kids Love doing this activity! They work on their scissor skills, coloring skills, AND learn measurements. I have them cut out the pieces and then glue him onto white paper or construction paper. They then color him and complete the worksheet. I use it with my 8th graders!!

This is a GOOGLE DRIVE presentation that I use with my students to learn the States and locations. I print off the first page for them to fill in while I go through it. Words on each page are written with both uppercase and lowercase letter so that students can better understand the difference. As part of our Government & Public Administration career cluster, we created a poster of a government official of our choice. Students could use any program they want and this rubric works with any programs. My students used Canva (a free program) to create their posters. This is a rubric I gave my students to use in order to make sure they have all of the required information on their magazine cover. I also used it for grading the magazine covers.

I use this with my 8th grade students in learning about Agriculture and Natural resources- this goes with the edible soil presentation. Without the presentation, this will not make any sense. The two go hand-in-hand. My 8th graders LOVE this activity because, well, they get to eat their soil afterwards! Nothing like learning AND eating!
