CIRCULAR CALENDAR WALL DISPLAY/ EL CALENDARIO CIRCULAR

Created by

A great classroom routine to review colors, days, months, numbers, dates, special days, and more! When completed, this creates a wheel that measures not quite 17 inches in diameter. This product is based on the Grimm's Annual Calendar, but is printable and able be placed on the wall so students can see it at all times. Each colored segment has 5 rows of 7 dots--these are the days of the weeks. Each day of the week is assigned a color. You or a student can fill in the dot with its assigned color

About the store

Experience

I have taught Spanish for 20 years in the High School and Higher Education Settings.

Teaching style

I'm an in-the-middle educator. Meaning that Foreign Language Acquisition methodology usually swings form one extreme to the other (think super-grammar-based to full-immersion). I believe firmly all methodologies have pros and I like to integrate those in to my teaching style. I shoot for 90% TL in the classroom, utilize scores of authentic videos and readings each year, and believe grammar to be an aid for students in second language acquisition.

Additional biographical information

The current trend in WL is for classrooms to be 90-100% TL. Some students need the grammar laid out for them. Some students consistently make the same grammar error no matter how much input is given. Some students have more of a mathematical mind and benefit from being shown the patterns instead of simply picking them up through input. Some teachers still long to communicate the linguistical aspect of language. Some teachers believe in Grammar being a springboard. This store is for those who fit any or all of the above!
