About the store

Experience

I have taught in the classroom for 20 years, including running a children's ministry program for three years, and an after school Bible class for two years.

Teaching style

I am definitely a hands on teacher. I feel if I can get the children to get out of their seats, they will remember what they are learning and have fun in the process. Whether it's getting them to "experience" an idea, or lesson, or teaching them a song with hand motions, my lessons get the students active and learning! My standards are extremely high, as I teach to the high end of a class, but through my years of experience even my lower level students will have excellent recall and understanding! I want school to be fun, so that their high level of learning is a joy for them as well as for me!

My own education history

I graduated on the Dean's List from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. I have taken numerous post graduate classes. Most recently, completing Orton Gillingham and using it in my classroom for the past three years. In addition, I have written many different types of curriculum for various schools.

Additional biographical information

I am a mom of twin girls, and wife to Eric Alexander, who helped lead the first blind man up Everest. We enjoy biking, hiking, climbing, downhill skiing, and Nordic skiing as a family. We attend Calvary Chapel, Vail Valley and I enjoy leading worship as well.
