This is a 3rd grade rubric for students who are going to write an informative/explanatory paragraph according to the standard: Standard: LAFS.3.W.1.2 Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. It's in a Word format.
In my student's (grades 6-12) writing binder, I put this list of 26 generic possible reasons to use when writing their thesis. On the same document, is a list of 14 figurative language definitions and examples that they can use in their writing.
This is a Word document with a memory trick to help students who struggle with writing a basic paragraph. I have them put this in their binder and I also post it around the room.
