Welcome! I am a 4th grade teacher in California! I am always creating things for my class that work for me and my students, so I thought I would share those things with your too!
This Geometry Investigation mat was created out of necessity for my students struggling with geometry. This product is intended to be printed and inserted into a whiteboard sleeve or sheet protector for students to use as they analyze shapes. The mat includes questions about analyzing angles, sides (parallel and perpendicular sides) and symmetry, with a space for students to write their final verdict of what kind of shape it is. I hope this is something you will find useful in your classroom as
This game will reinforce finding factors for a given number. Students draw a number, then write all of the factors for that number. each factor counts as a leg for their bug. The winner is the player with the most legs on their bug. If their bug is a "Prime" Bug, they get bonus points. Bonus points are also given for bugs with a tail (bugs that have a double factor; 4x4, 5x5, 6x, etc.)
I made this product to help students organize their work when practicing writing numbers in 3 different forms. Students slide this page into a plastic sleeve, and then write on it with a whiteboard marker. Just print and use to make whole class checking for understanding a breeze! Provide students with one form of the number, and have them fill in the other two forms. Or have students create their own numbers to fill in all three forms.
Superbug Smash is a fun way for students to practice factors, and prime and composite numbers. This game can be played in centers or as a whole class. The goal of the game is to find all the factors for a given product and to give your bug legs to match each factor. Each student gets a bug and a stack of product cards to play. Laminate your bugs for repeated use. Scoring rules for the game are printed right above each bug for an easy student reference.
Narrative writing can be very fun! But where do you start? This resource will help you and your students get started with narrative story writing. This resource contains 4 "Finish the Story" prompts. Each prompt provides the writer with a story beginning and the start of the story's conflict. It is your students job to develop the conflict and finish the story with a resolution. All 4 stories starters are written in first person point of view and in past tense.
Teaching conversions? This resource will save you and your students from getting caught up on memorizing the conversions at the beginning of your teaching unit. The notes are set up to print 2 on a page. They include metric and customary units of length, capacity, and weight. The center of the notes have steps and an example of how to convert units.
