This contains a set of experiments:
A model experiment (teacher led) with examples of how you could gather and analyze class data
A follow-up drone experiment in which students work with small teams (no more than 3 students per team) to conduct their own experiment.
There is an individual report template too for each student to complete for evaluation. Each student should be evaluated based on their ability to gather relevant observations, analyze them to verify and prove whether or not the ob
This tool could be used to support your Flight unit evaluations. It could also be used to provide students with a fun way to explore scientific terminology use in the classroom (or to practice for homework).
I have also provided you with a model level 4 response for future evaluations of the student understanding related to the forces of flight.
Very simple paper airplane models for students. The models are cut out as a 2D shape, then folded into 3D (very easy to do).
Support Video for sharing with students is included. This makes it easier for any teacher to support all students at their own pace!
This introductory video leads students to begin to explore possible questions they could answer related to the parts of an airplane and the forces of flight.
This video will captivate the attention of your students because it shows an actual flying model in a barrel roll due to aileron movement.
I use aileron movement as my instructional example when describing how moving parts of an airplane can help a pilot use the forces of flight to control the movement of the entire airplane.
Enjoy!
Students will be challenged to review a real-world problem and create an algebraic expression related to the question. Then, solve the real-world problem using their algebraic expression they've created.
This product contains the assignment page problem that can be shared digitally with students as well as a levelled rubric and levelled corrections questions that can be sent to students either on paper or digitally to help them practice the skills necessary to succeed.

This activity can easily be the theme to any Ecosystem (or species) study in any grade.
Students are directed through scaffolded modules that help to guide their thinking as they explore sections of the world that interest them. Diving deeper into thoughtful research associated with species (from the exotic to the everyday domestic pet).
Students will develop their own documentary to describe their journey using any tech resources they wish. The only limitation is their imagination!
This evaluation works great in conjunction with the Google Earth Flight Simulator. Students need to choose a part on the airplane and describe how this component helps the pilot manage the movement of the airplane by controlling the forces of flight.
Cross-curricular connections:
Language - procedural writing and interpretation
Math - measurement and unit conversions
Science - following a scientific procedure
Science - using materials/tools safely during construction
All learning skills could be evaluated during the construction process.
**I'm sure there are many more connections too**
This evaluation incorporates 21st Century application/problem-solving while students demonstrate their understanding/use of scientific terminology (e.g., solute, solvent, solubility, concentration, solution, proportion, temperature, particle theory, volume, etc...) in response to the video assignment (video link is found in the attached evaluation).
Students have the freedom to represent their understanding using any form of media they wish for this assignment.
I have included the detailed as
This is a real-life evaluation that connects Felice Varini's artwork to grade 7 measurement (area of triangles and composite figures). I have included an answer as well as comment questions to help you provide rich feedback to guide student corrections.
This unit is an overview that guides students through how to design and complete a scientific experiment (as well as how to write a scientific report).
Students explore the history of experimentation with electricity, how circuits are constructed, and how to apply simple circuits when planning, designing, and building Derby race cars (powered by electricity).
This is a .png grid system that can be overlaid on top of any image to assist teachers and students as they explore grid systems and coordinate mapping.
