About the store

Experience

I am a math teacher at Roosevelt Middle School, where I focus on helping middle-grade students build robust mathematical foundations. Over the years, my classroom approach has evolved to heavily prioritize educational technology. I specialize in developing comprehensive digital learning units and interactive student resources. Every lesson and unit I create is rigorously tested in my own classroom, ensuring it is practical, engaging, and ready to deploy in a modern educational setting.

Teaching style

My teaching philosophy centers on active engagement and digital exploration. I believe that students learn math best when they can interact directly with the material rather than passively consuming it. My resources are designed around digital manipulatives, interactive lessons, and structured units that guide students from initial discovery to complete mastery. I build tools that foster independence and critical thinking, providing students with the visual and interactive scaffolding they need to grasp complex mathematical concepts.

My own education history

I hold a M. Ed. in Math Education and Educational Leadership from Bethel University. My continuous professional development focuses heavily on educational technology integration, modern curriculum design, and creating rigorous, standards-aligned math resources for diverse learners.

Additional biographical information

When I'm not in the classroom or designing new math curriculum, you can usually find me outside. I live in Minnesota, with my wife and kids. I serve as the head coach for the local high school's Nordic ski team and am an avid long-distance cross-country skier myself—I regularly train for and race the 50km American Birkebeiner. Whether I'm out running trails, developing software tools for athletic coaching, or tackling a home renovation project, I thrive on staying active and constantly solving new problems.
