This is a graphic organizer or worksheet for dancers to fill out. It helps dancers fully plan a dance piece before starting choreography, and it helps teachers see the dancer's vision for their student choreography. This worksheet can be used in conjunction with my Google Slides Presentation "The Choreographic Process" or it can be used on it's own and incorporated into any choreography lesson.
This is a google slide deck that walks dancers through one way of generating choreography, by conducting a lyric study. It connects to the 5 Elements of Dance, incorporates guided practice, and teachers can embed the Lyric Study Worksheet Activity. This lesson can be used for any genre of dance but it works best with Lyrical or Contemporary.
I use this worksheet for student makeup work. Students take a class or learn a dance from youtube and fill out this reflection. This worksheet could easily be adapted to be a reflection for students to fill out at the end or after class.
This is a google slide deck that introduces and briefly explains a choreography challenge dealing with spatial constraint. The activity is called Tiny Dances. This worksheet guides students through an exploration of ballet history. It incorporates student choice, collaboration, and scaffolding. It is a great anticipatory set for a ballet unit or could be great to use on a non-dance day.
