Earth Materials Booklet provides students with a place to document simple earth materials obsevations. Teachers will need to prepare pictures and samples to go along with observations.

Students will work on counting and place value as they count manipulatives in a jar and then record using place value. Meets first grade common core math standards: 1.NBT.1 & 1.NBT.2.

After reading a book students will write their opinion about the book. Meets First Grade Language Arts Common Core Standard 1.W.1 Standard: 1.W.1: Write opinion pieces in which they introduce the name of the book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.

Students can listen to I Am Rosa Parks then complete worksheet stating two facts and two opinions about Rosa Parks.

Students individually practice making money amounts through rolling two dice to generate different money amounts. Can be differentiated by having students only use certain coins or using the least amount of coins. Meets Common Core Standard for second grade 2.MD.8. Anna Marks
