Help students start their PASSION PROJECT off on the right foot! Use this planning template to guide the passion driven learning journey!

These are cards meant for individual and whole class goal setting. Students use the individual cards as a reminder of what their specific goal is and the big cards are used to display in the classroom to display our learning targets. The pictures help students understand each "I can..." statement. See the preview for a list of which "I can..." statements are included in this set.

I use this in my classroom as a way to facilitate learning during “Genius Hour” for 20+ first graders. Each student has a clothes pin with his or her name. The student copy is meant to serve as a check-in for students. Before moving on to the next step, I initial and date on the line. Build writing fluency through power writing. Give students a topic, provide them with 1 minute to think, 3 minutes to write, and 1 minute to edit. Watch the amount of words written in the short amount of time increase!

Students write -igh, -ie, and -ind words on french fries boxes according to their pattern.

I hang these hearts around my room. Next, I have students walk around with clipboards and a partner identifying the words and writing them in the correct spaces. This is fun and good practice!

Students will practice adding numbers up to 8 with manipulatives. Players: 1-2 Objective: Correctly add numbers using manipulatives. Directions: Spin the first spinner. Place # of baseballs in the mit. Write the # or place the number card in the box. Spin the second spinner. Place # of footballs in the goal. Write the # or place the number card in the box. Add the two #’s and write the sum or place the number card in the last box. Record addition sentences on the recording
