Slow writing is an approach to writing that uses a step-by-step structure to create a short text or paragraph The first page is a list of writing skills and examples of these skills in sentences. Then afterwards, there are 5 slow write prompts for five quick lessons. In our class, we have been using one of these prompts for 20 minutes each morning to build up skills.

Additional biographical information

I have been teaching primary school kids for eight years in New Zealand. I am particularly passionate about teaching maths. I love creating my own differentiated maths projects because I can see how much real-life contexts create a love of maths in students. I designed them at two different maths levels so all students, no matter their level of maths, are engaged by the same type of task!
