Students learn about the life cycle of stars by creating a baby book for a new born star that traces its life cycle from birth until death. The "family tree" of stars is also explored so students are exposed to different type of stars. The preview file shows a fill in the blank version of the family tree page of the book that could be used instead of having students create their own page.

Students research the different types of telescopes and create a booklet or PowerPoint advertising each type. A modified version of the project is also available for purchase for students with special needs. Grading rubric is included.

Students create a poster advertisement and paragraph or skit supporting and explaining the theories of one ancient astronomer. A rubric is included. The participation section of the rubric is to be used with the "Group Project Contribution Feedback Rubric" (also available for purchase) which allows students to provide feedback on the exact work each group member did.

Students research and write about the history and major parts of satellites before designing and building their own model. Scoring for grading included.
