About the store
It all started the day I was born. I was so blessed to have a beautiful older sister who happened to be born with Down Syndrome. I have learned so much from her and in using my creativity to help her sweet stubborn self learn and comply I decided to go into teaching! I have worked in the special education field for over 9 years. I have recently gone to consulting so I can be home with my little ones, I train teachers in behavior, supervise home programs and present professional development courses. I am currently doing home preschool with my four year old. I love to create teaching resources and am trying to share the things I am currently using or have used in the past with my students.

Teaching style

I love observing my students and learning from them. I love to take where they are and improve upon it step by step. Working in special education requires that flexibility. No two students learn the same or are on the same level. They all have different strengths, weaknesses and needs. I love to be creative and find what works for them. If I was to narrow what I do down to one phrase it would be "positive reinforcement!"

Awards & shining teacher moments

I've been asked on many occasions to speak on Autism spectrum disorders, behavior, classroom management and other areas of teaching both in large scale and small scale settings. I currently train teachers in PMT which is a de-escalation and protective holding program. I love to teach with stories from my own classroom.

My own education history
