This project leads students through the engineering design process while teaching them how to draw in one point perspective. Students will use a variety of materials to create a model of a room. Depending on what kind of room students choose, they will then craft furniture and decorate their model. Students will also create a cost analysis of their build and reflect on their work using the attached rubric and reflection pages. This product includes: Both a Teacher ad Student copy of the proje

This product allows student to clearly and visually identify different parts of the Scientific Method by using a check list to check off what steps are in different labs, notes, activities etc. This product has 2 versions of wording. One aimed for more Elementary students and one aimed more for Middle/High School students. I have also included two different formats. This project is a great introductory project to TinkerCad and goes through all the basics for students to practice and then use those skills to make a object of their own. Students start out learning what TinkerCad calls "starters" which go through the basic operations of the program and how to do things like combine shapes and move shapes around. Once they are done with those they are asked to create their own object using their new skills. They are then asked to reflect on their work by fillin

This is a engaging and fun project that all students will love! It is great for the beginning of the year, end of the year or even a mid year break. In this project students use the Engineering Design Process to create the best and longest flying paper airplane possible. They research the elements of flight, practice their origami folding skills and then reflect on their experience and final product after testing. This project doesn't require internet access for everyone but I HIGHLY recommen

This is a fun and engaging project that students really get into. This project leads students through the Engineering Design Process and pushes them to think outside the box in order to create the best catapult. Students start by brainstorming and doing research that informs them what kind of catapult they can build. They then design, build and practice test their catapult. Once they are done practice testing they use exact measurements and take data to determine who has the best catapult. Thi

Looking for a game for the beginning of the year that can be done both in the classroom and online? STEM Charades is a great and simple game that helps reinforce classroom norms and procedures while giving students a chance to get out of their seat and engage in a fun and collaborative game. Great for middle school and high school students and, can be altered for kids in lower grades as well.

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching 6th-grade science and middle school engineering for two years now. I have also subbed around Oregon and have experience in elementary grades.

Teaching style

I prefer a hands-on approach to my assignments. If possible turning them into a project that students can relate to and engage multiple skills in completing. I try to relate as much as possible to my students and often use examples or models to get a point across.

My own education history

Bachelors Degree from Western Oregon University
