About the store

Experience

I have been a teacher for 12 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. I am currently a Math Coach, serving K-4.

Teaching style

I love to make learning new and exciting! I enjoy challenging my students by differentiating my instruction and meeting their many interests. I am constantly researching new ideas to improve my instruction and professionalism.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I serve as a member of my district’s Advisory Council and my school's Shared Leadership Team. I also serve as a Common Core Learning Leader, was selected as a participant in the TNDOE and Institute for Learning research project as a Math Instructional Coach, and was recently selected as a Hope Street Group Fellow.

My own education history

I graduated from Aquinas College with a degree in Elementary Education. April holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Trevecca University and an Administrative Licensure from Lipscomb University.

Additional biographical information

I have been married to a wonderful guy named Rodney for 4 years, and I have a cute Yorkie, Charlie. I love to spend time with my family and friends, read, and enjoy traveling.
