Decimal & Fraction Numberlines
Have students show their knowledge of equivalency between fractions and decimals and then plot them in the correct location on a number line.
4th - 5th

African Flag Fraction Task
Students will use logic clues and their knowledge of fractional parts of the whole to solve which flag belongs to which student. This is a great activity to use for early finishers, in a math station, or partner/small group activity.

Backyard Perimeter & Area
Students will use a picture of a backyard to solve questions involving perimeter and area. This is a great activity to include in a math station or as a partner/small group activity.

Give your students some tips on how to recognize when a fraction has been simplified to its lowest terms. This is a great chart for students to include in their Interactive Notebooks to refer back to when simplifying fractions

Teaching style
I use a blend of Guided Math and Whole Group instruction. I also use differentiation for students that show specific learning needs. I love to used Interactive Notebooks as their self-created Math "textbook".

Additional biographical information
I am a proud mother of 3!! A daughter currently attending UNC-Chapel Hill, a son who recently won a "State Championship" in soccer as a freshman, and a miniature fox terrier who loves me unconditionally and is always glad to see me come home. I am very blessed
