This is my favorite way to teach the Principles of Design. Not only do students learn how to make an accordion book, but they are demonstrating the Principles of Design in a unique and creative way. This is the ultimate in graphic organizers and can be used as reference throughout the school year.
Books take on a whole new meaning in this engaging and creative project. Watch artwork come to life in a pop up explosion. These books are great for recycling artwork that students don't want anymore or create original artwork just for the book. This art project won't disappoint. Step by step images to construct the books.
In this lesson, everyday artwork is transformed into a book. Not just any book, but an intricate three-dimensional form. This project can be adapted to any lesson, such as illustrations in pen or graphite. Even recycled artworks, comics, portraits and so much more. Anything goes! The artwork I used for this lesson is an example of neurographic art using color theory. Kids will be amazed at the transformation.
